SG in Cyberspace

For most people Saturday is the day of escaping the lethargic week of doing routinely things in school or in work. Movie houses, malls, public parks and bars are filled with urban people who are quenching their thirst for an escape. While most people are savoring the fruits of their well earned money or well saved allowance on a Saturday in these common places, there is a special group of people that I befriended who literally and figuratively escapes reality with a twist. Theirs is a unique escape indeed. They call themselves the Saturday group. The group is composed of young urban professionals who recently graduated from college who goes on road tripping every scheduled Saturdays. Armed with some meager pesos and a road map, they charter unfamiliar places in search for an escape- rediscovering the Philippines and its hidden charm and beauty. For two or more days, they drive from days on end and stop at some of the most interesting sights and sounds that the country side can offer.

This blog does not only journalize their adventures. It is an attempt to inform weary road travelers and backpackers alike of the most creative and practical means of going on a road trip. Likewise, this blog seeks to promote the Philippines from the eyes of simple young people who found solitude in the pedestrian ways of traveling.
